This pretty hip length chemise is back by popular request! Its based on my standard Linen A-Line chemise, plus I decided to make it in colors. I debuted this design in 2019 at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire and it sold out FAST. Its in stock now and ready to ship.
A renaissance chemise is a standard undergarment for your ladies outfit. I designed mine to emulate period patterns for a great historical look and for maximum comfort too. The chemise coordinates with the gowns and bodices on this site too. You may find yourself wearing it after hours by itself for lounging or as a nightgown. I do.
Made from a medium weight linen blend, the neckline is square and cut to peek out above my bodice and overdress necklines. It has cotton lace edging on the square neckline and cuffs with a color coordinated ribbon tie closure. The chemise falls right to your hips and is cut generously wide at the hem for comfort and easy movement. Because renfaire is an adventure, after all.
The linen blend fabric is mixed with just enough rayon to help smooth wrinkling and make it more washer friendly. The lilac hip length chemise has a bit of spandex added too – which contributes to its comfy feel. I always preshrink, so you can launder your chemise on cool gently and hang it dry for best results. If you have stains on your garment, go ahead and spot treat before the laundry. The fabric is very sturdy so can take heavy use, though you should be careful with the lace and ribbon.
