Description
I have 2 kinds of kids renaissance hats. One is called a flat cap, the other is called a biggins cap. Because even the littles need to keep the sun off their head, yes?
The Flat Cap is a wide brimmed round hat that came into style around the time of Michelangelo and remained popular for all ages and genders through the late 1500s. It provides excellent shade and is light enough for hot weather too and I like to make them in linen for the kids to match with the clothing I create. The child’s Flat Cap is available in teeny tiny sizes for newborns up to size medium. Please do check out the size chart.
The biggins cap is a simply cute bonnet for babies, and practical for older ages too. Its available in Small which will fit the newborns up to 2yrs, and Medium for 6yrs and up, roughly. Both are in offwhite or a grey linen.
Care: I’d say both kids renaissance hats are basically ‘adventure proof’. They are washable in cold water and you can lay them flat to dry. Ta Da!

Like all the garments I make, this is a handmade item from California. This style is brand new, so inventory is limited. I don’t have every hat in every size, so please poke around. Just in case you are looking for adult sizes of these hats, you should go HERE.
