Description
This stylish variation of Renaissance hat is called an Italian Bonnet. It was worn extensively by ladies and lords of the middle classes. Yes, its a Unisex hat. 🙂 This hand-made hat is gathered and/or pleated into a flat brim, and has serious style. Plus, its fancier than the peasant hats, but less fussy and expensive than the upper classes’ hats. Add a feather brooch and you are looking good, very good.
The Italian Bonnet features a medium width brim, so it is good for shade. The hat is made of durable medium weight cotton twill for great wear. The fabric is light enough for hot weather too. I’d say this hat is basically ‘adventure ready’. Go ahead, put some ice cubes in there when its super hot. You’ll be glad you did. In case of mis-adventure, you can toss the Italian Bonnet in the washer and dryer too.
