Summertime sneak peeks

Summertime sneak peeks

Here in the studio summertime sneak peeks are about new fabrics, new styles and anticipation for fall renfaire season up at Casa de Fruta. As usual, I am inventorying remaining product from my spring show and loading the website up with goodies. I just tuned up the Linen Bloomers listing for example and I’ve got SO MANY chemises online. Get them while its hot (har dee harr)! More about this later in the blog, so read on to the end! Its a lovely time of year and we are just on the cusp of summer – it’ll go fast so lets dig in here and enjoy.

bolts of fabricNew fabric on hand: I got my order in just a week ago all the way from China. You may or may not know I decided to change up my source due to quality issues over the past few years. And I found a linen/cotton blend that is SO NICE. The hand is crisp, the weave is fine, there’s no stretch or suspicious behavior. Its like linen is supposed to be, how it was back in the day, and will be the default fabric for most of my styles. And so – I’m pleased to have a new medium brown, honey yellow, dark saffron, light green, and a very unusual lilac/rose. All these in addition to the usual black, dark navy, natural, and other mainstays we love every season. Now I’m thinking of how to coordinate and style these new colors. I’m having all the fun with colors. 🙂

a group of men and women seated selling items at the marketplaceNew style: I’ve been working on a traditional partlette for the ladies based on Joachim Beukelaer’s paintings. Its coming along SLOWLY and I hope to have a small selection for my shop VERY soon. It’ll be made from a 3.5oz 100% linen, fingers crossed. Maybe in black too as well as white? Let me know your thoughts!

Fall Season is coming! I’m headed back to the Northern California Renaissance Faire at Casa de Fruta (near Hollister). I’ve got my crew partially picked out. So if you’re a strong salesperson, live close to the site, and fit our vibe –  shoot me an email and tell me about it.

Thank you everyone for reading and sharing this blog. For those of you on the Insider’s List – you should know that I’m sending you all a coupon for 15% off any items in the webstore (be sure to add my email to your contacts so you get my messages). Think of it like a fancy schmancy Outlet store. If you wish to be on the Insider’s list – send me a message with Insider’s List as the subject.

See you all soon! I’m headed to the garden.
